Due to scheduled system maintenance, our catalog, My Account, electronic resources and mobile app will be unavailable starting at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 20 – early Sunday, Sept. 21. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Make a difference in our community this summer. Volunteer at the library!

Teens interested in volunteering should check with their neighborhood branch. Opportunities vary from branch to branch.

Interested in assisting at the Homework Help Center? Sign up now to be considered for the new school year starting in August. If you want to volunteer now, consider helping with the Reading Buddies program.

Reading Buddies is the hottest volunteer ticket in town! This hour-long opportunity is a quick way to make a big impact on children K-3 and their reading skills. Join us as we listen to children read and ask them comprehension questions appropriate to their story. Reading Buddies hours vary from branch to branch during the summer. Some locations, like Northern Lights, have hours from 1 to 2 p.m., others offer mid-afternoon hours, and still more offer times from 4 to 5 p.m. or 5 to 6 p.m. Note that not all locations need volunteers at this time.

Adults who want to volunteer can click here for the application.

If you have questions about any of our volunteer opportunities, email swolford@columbuslibrary.org or call 614-849-1055.
