Make a difference in our community this summer. Volunteer at the library!

Teens: Are you gearing up for summer? Drop by your neighborhood branch to pick up your Summer Reading Club VolunTeen Application. Applications will be accepted starting the morning of May 1.

Help with this program and your volunteer hours count toward your Community Service hours for graduation.

Applications submitted before May 1 will not be accepted.

Interested in helping in a Homework Help Center? Join us in August when we start the new school year. All our volunteers are in place for the 2013-2014 school year, but we'll start over again in mid-August when school starts up again. If you want to start now, consider helping with the Reading Buddies program.

Reading Buddies is the hottest volunteer ticket in town! This hour-long opportunity is a quick way to make a big impact on children K-3 and their reading skills. Join us as we listen to children read and ask them comprehension questions appropriate to their story. Reading Buddies shares the same timeframes as the Homework Help Centers, with hours from 4 to 5 p.m. at some branches and 5 to 6 p.m. at others.

Want to join the summer Reading Buddies team? Email swolford@columbuslibrary.org for the link to the application.
